Harianvelan, Punjab (KP) - Panth Akali Tarna Dal, Missal Shaheedan, Harianvelan celebrated Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji’s Parkash Purab at Gurdwara Sahib Harianvelan which concluded with Nagar Kirtan procession led by the Panj Piyaray in full Nihang Singh bana.
Tarna Dal Jathedar, Nihang Singh Baba Nihal Singh Ji, participated in the hazoori chaur seva of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji leading the procession on a elegantly decorated vehicle studded weith fresh flowers and petals. The event to celebrate the 7th Guru Sahiban’s Parkash divas began mid-morning and included the Sikh Sangat on foot, in cars, Jeeps, trucks and motorcycles. Thousands of participants and Nihang Singhs in a sea of blue filled the sky with thunderous Jaikaras.
There was so much Sangat that the entire procession of the Nagar Kirtan covered miles. The route of the procession included the towns of Chagran, Bohan, Patti, Bajrawar Chabaywal, and Jatpur. The Sangat was warmly welcomed in every town and showered with flower petels by the local sevadars. The Nihang Singhs, known as Guru-ki-ladli-fauj, displayed their martial skills in Gatka, sword fighting, and horse riding.
Bhai Sansar Singh, Hazoori Ragi of Gurduara Sahib Harianvelan, Bhai Mohinder Singh, Dhadi Ajaib Singh Ankhi and many other Jathas partook in Kirtan and dhadi darbar seva in the Nagar Kirtan. The entire procession ended at approxiamtley 6pm in the evening with langar served at Gurduara Sahib Harianvelan.
