Ludhiana, Punjab (KP) - A Gurdwara and its management in the area came under fire from both Major Singh Khalsa and Sarbjit Singh Ghuman who are the spokespersons for Shiromani Khalsa Dal (SKD) and Dal Khalsa respectively, for allegedly honoring Gurnam Kleran who is an aide of the notorious “Baba Bhaniara”.
The “Baba” who has claimed himself to be a successor to the Sikh Gurus has been the focal point of tension in the Sikh Panth for his unscrupulous action. He is also guilty of burning several saroops of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, writing his own “granth” called the “bhavsagar granth”, in addition to his self-proclaimed guruship. The “baba” has been excommunicated from the Sikh Panth since 1998.
Gurnam Kler, the accused had allegedly installed a copy of the “bhavsagar granth” in his home, which was later thrown out by Sikh Sangat in the area.
The spokespersons for both groups demanded that the incident of honoring “babas” be investigated by the Akal Takhat and SGPC. They also requested that a fitting punishment be given to the guilty parties as a deterrent to those who would try to do similar anti-Gurmat and anti-Panthic activities.
Major Singh Khalsa also stated that the honor and practice of giving siropa in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji should be reserved for the deserving few.
