Shaheed Talwinder Singh Babbar
Ludhiana, Punjab (KP) – It was a scene reminiscent of the late 1990s when Panthic organizations would unite in commemoration of the Shaheeds who laid down their lives for the Chardi-Kala of the Panth. Such a function was recently organized in village of Dalla in which the lives of Shaheeds of the Babbar Khalsa organization and other Khalistan Freedom Fighting organizations were honored.
The function in Dalla was organized by Bhai Gian Singh Leel to commemorate, in particular, the martyrdom and sacrifice of Jathedar Bhai Talwinder Singh Parmar of Babbar Khalsa Canada. Bhai Talwinder Singh was a highranking member of the Babbar Khalsa who was killed by the Indian security forces in a faked police encounter on October 15, 1992.
Amardeep Singh ‘Amar’, a senior member of Shahbaaz Khalsa and a renewed writer and poet, reminded the attending Sangat of the sacrifices of the Shaheed Singhs. He extended his gratitude towards the families of the martyrs on behalf of the Shahbaaz Khalsa organization.
In total, families of around 150 Shaheed Singhs were honored in the ceremonies. Panthic organization Shahbaaz Khalsa played an active role in the program’s organization.
Several senior members of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) were also present at the program. Daljit Singh Bittu also addressed the Sangat at the program. Bittu apologized for any mistakes that were committed by him during the days of militancy and held that the lives of the Shaheed Singhs will always be remembered by the Khalsa Panth. He emphasized that Sikh Youth should take lessons from the struggles faced by the Shaheed Singhs and follow in their footprints.
The event also honored over two-hundred youths for adhering to the Sikh identity and principals. In addition, several news reporters and media persons also received ‘siropaos’ from the organizers for working in interests of the Khalsa Panth.
