Amritsar Sahib (KP) -- Fresh revelations were made by Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti on August 14th regarding his ouster as the Akal Takhat Sahib Jathedar. The Sikh Nation has been eagerly awaiting these explanations as it was not clear to everyone on what basis Giani Joginder Singh had submitted his resignation.
While talking to the press, Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti made it clear that he did not step down as the Jathedar on health grounds; in fact he was forced down by anti-Panthic elements who are in control of Sikh Institutions. The idea of resigning on health grounds seemed suspicious anyway as Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti was offered another position by the SGPC and Giani Gurbachan Singh Khalsa is of similar age.
Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti held that he did not want any honor from the SGPC as he was removed for clearly the wrong reasons. Furthermore, the eight years in which he had ‘served’ the Khalsa Panth were the true honor for him. While talking of the controversies that arose during the eight years, Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti held that he did not issue any hukamnamas on the demands of Parkash Badal and neither did he accept any kind of bribe from the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat or the Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti, his plan was to resign from the post of Akal Takhat Sahib Jathedar on August 5th, but he was forced to step down by the SGPC President as both were facing increasing differences with each other.
During the press meeting, Vedanti also lashed out at Giani Gurbachan Singh for lifting the ban on Singh Sahib Giani Iqbal Singh and Singh Sahib Giani Kulwant Singh as when the hukamnama was passed, Giani Gurbachan Singh was one of the signatories. Giani Vedanti held that he did not take any actions against Giani Iqbal Singh because of his personal grudge but because he wanted to preserve the status and maryada of Akal Takhat Sahib.
