Sri Amritsar Sahib (KP) - Demands for legal action against a controversial newspaper and its ex-communicated editor echoed across the Sikh community as a reaction to a blasphemous editorial column questioning the authenticity of authenticity of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Bani enshrined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
For years the Joginder Sahwney has been championed the views of ex-communicated heretic such as Gurbakhsh Kala-Afghana, Ragi Darshan, and others, and spearheaded the campaign against Sri Dasam Granth Sahib and is now testing the Sikh community’s patience and resolve by questioning the legitimacy of the first Guru Sahib Ji’s Banis.
Major Sikh institutions and organizations, including Sri Akal Takht Sahib’s Jathedar, and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, have demanded severe legal action against Sahwney, the mind behind the poisonous editorials.
The Sikh community expressed outrage by holding demonstrations and rallies across Punjab in which copies of ‘Rozana Spokesman’ were publicly burnt.
In a recent editorial, he questioned the validity of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Bani by suggesting that Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s original Bani contained in ‘Pothee Sahib’ was destroyed by Nirmalays and Udasees.

‘ਸ੍ਰੀਚੰਦ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਮਲਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਉਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਬਾਬੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਹੱਥ-ਲਿਖਤ ‘ਪੋਥੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ’ ਤਬਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂ ਸਾੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਜੰਗਾਂ-ਯੁੱਧਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ‘ਪੋਥੀ’ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਬਾਬੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ‘ਚੋਲਾ’ ਤਾਂ ਤਬਾਹ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਖੜਾਂਵਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਬਚ ਗਈਆਂ, ਬਾਕੀ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਲਿਖਤ ਤੇ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ਤਾਂ ਬਚ ਗਈ ਪਰ ਯੁੱਧਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਬਾਬੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਹੱਥ-ਲਿਖਤ ‘ਬਾਣੀ’ ਹੀ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਸੀ?
ਸਾਫ਼ ਹੈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਤਬਦੀਲੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਪਹਿਲੀਆਂ ਬੀੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਚਲਾਈ (ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਬੂਤ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਣ) ਅਤੇ ਧੁਮਾ ਇਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਬਿਰਧ ਬੀੜਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਵੀ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਕਰਮ ਹੈ।’’

Not too long ago, he had made similar twisted statements rejecting the ‘Gurgaddi’ of the nine consecutive Guru Sahiban after Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji:

'ਬਾਬੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਗੱਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਗੱਦੀ ਚਲਾਉਣੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ।'
"Guru Nanak did not bestow Gurgaddi to anyone, because He did not want to pass on the gaddi to anyone after him."
'ਮੈਂ ਬਾਬੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੋਂ ਸਿਵਾ ਬਾਕੀ ਨੌਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ (ਭਾਵ ਬਾਕੀ ਨੌ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ) ।'
"Besides Baba Nanak, I do not believe in the rest of the nine (Gurus Sahibans)"

Sikh organizations have announced that a special Panthic level gathering will be called soon to chalk up a strategy to keep heresy of Joginder Sahwney and other in check.

This guy has no faith in Sikhism. Perhaps he sincerely believes that a man can have a face transplant of an elephant, a monkey king can fly and swallow the sun, a woman can walk through fire and not be burned to prove her loyality to a dis-believing husband and that a man can be holy and have 300 gopies and seduce his aunt and still remain holy, worthy of worship by men. In that case good luck to him as he has found his true home.
