Yudh 2008 - 6th Annual Gatka Tournament Results

Toronto, Canada - The 6th annual Yudh Gatka Tournament was a success. Despite the tournament being local, there was a large turnout of competitors and spectators on August 16th at Toronto's very own Ontario Khalsa Darbar. 

Although only a few walked away with trophies, all participants exhibited tremendous effort and played gatka with a great attitude.  Below is a list of the winners for all of the various competition categories.

Also, at this event, Gulzar Singh Lahoria, vocalist singer, performed and was awarded for his new released CD "Eh Kum Khalsay Da" which was given the shromani award in Punjab from the SGPC (Shromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee).

All in all, the event was a success attributable to all who attended and contributed.  With the amount of support from all over Ontario, the Canadian Organization of Sikh Students (COSS) is sponsoring 10 competitors to from Toronto to attend the International tournament coming up this Sunday, August 24th, in Calgary, Alberta. Next year, the local tournament will continue to happen in Toronto and the Internation tournament will be going south across the border to New Jersey State in the United States.

I thought it was a local tournament. I guess there's no boundaries on our borders

avtar singh from fremont took first in jalha, and gurpuran singh from fresno took second in boys under 18 soti fight

Congratulations to all the winners and participants
It seems like in the past there's normally atleast one person from California who wins but I didn't notice any in the article
I thought maybe nobody from California went or they just didn't do so well this year but then I actually read the article properly and read that it was a local tournament
