Racist Attack on Gurdwara
Sunday 21st of August 2005
Fauja Singh - Panthic Weekly Staff

London, UK (KP) - Singh Sabha Gurdwara sangat in East London, Seven Kings, arrived at the Gurdwra premises on Tuesday at 7.30 in the morning to find slabs of bacon scattered around the front of the sacred place of worship.

It is highly likely that this was a racist attack aimed towards the Muslim community and that a Gurdwara was mistaken for a Mosque. Islam prohibits eating pork and therefore the police belivee it was aimed at the Muslim community.

The Sikh Community of London is deeply shocked and offended at this attack on their place of worship in London. Sikhs attending the Local Gurdwra said they were saddened at the desecration of the Gurdwara and felt it was disgraceful. Whether aimed at Sikhs or Muslims this type of action was considered highly offensive.
