Indore, Madhya Pardesh (KP) - A formal complaint was filed with the Senior Superintendent of Punjab Police, Amritsar against a local book publisher, accusing him of publishing forged copies of a religious magazine known as 'Soora'.
The complaintent, Ratinder Singh of Indore, asserts that the illegaly published magazine with objectionable content was part of a blackmail scheme by Sukhdev Singh of Gurmat Pustak Bhandar, also known as 'Dakan Number 31'. Below is an extract of the filed letter.

Respected Sir,
I would like to delineate the following submission for discreet consideration and appropriate action please.
1. I am professional a journalist and presently the editor of Akhand Kirtani Jatha Bulletin. Parwanejet Kaur, my wife, is the publisher of the Bulletin. We get it printed from Arihant Graphics, 59, Rawaji Bazar, Indore (M.P.) and published from 19, Khalsa Stadium, Dhar Road, Indore.
2. On February 2, 2006 it was brought in my knowledge by some friends from Indore that "an advertisement is placed in "Singh Garaj" magazine against you".
3. After purchasing the copy of the same magazine "Singh Garaj" from a bookstall, I contacted my advocate and a legal notice of defamation was sent over to the Chief Pattern, Editor, Managing Editor plus 30 other persons under section 500 IPC on February 9, 2006.
4. The said legal notice was received by more than 20 of these persons and my advocate had received the acknowledgment of the same.
5. In July, August, and September 2004, my friend Amardeep Singh Amar (Jagraon, Punjab), published and edited 3 issues of a magazine titled "So Khayeeat Hai Soora", but these issues were for private circulation only and at that time the title was not registered by RNI. No more issue of the magazine was published further. In January 2005, I got "So Khayeeat Hai Soora" titled registered, but I have not filed the declaration and I have not launched the magazine.
6. On February 27, 2006, it was brought over in my knowledge by some friends from Punjab that an issue of "Soora" containing my name as Mukh Prabhandak and my wife, Parwanjeet Kaur as a publisher, and Arihant Graphics as printer is distributed in Amritsar and the magazine contains some objectionable material against Ram Singh, Chief of Damdami Taksal and some other people.
7. I was highly shocked and surprised by this information because in anyway I have not published any such magazine.
8. Later on Rajandeep Singh, son of Bhai Ram Singh Damdami Taksal (Resident of 12 Braham Buta Market, Amritsar) has contacted me on telephone and he told me that said copy of that forged "Soora" magazine is with him and it was given over to him and his mother by Sukhdev Singh (Proprietor of Gurmat Pustak Bhandar, Shop . No 31, Ghanta Ghar Market) and Charanjeet Singh (Ghadiyan Wala).
9. Charanjeet Singh (Ghadiyan Wala) later on telephone has confirmed that he and Sukhdev Singh has given the copy of the said "Soora" magazine to Bhai Ram Singh's wife and his son.
10. It is necessary to mention that Sukhdev Singh and Charanjeet Singh (Ghadiyan Wala) are already served with the legal notice by my advocate.
11. I believe that such issue of "Soora" is published/oblique printed by the same people to whom I have already sent the notice of defamation through my advocate and it is under a conspiracy to falsely implement me, my wife, and some of my friends from Delhi, Amritsar, and Rajasthan under some case.
12. With this application I do hereby affirm and declare that no such issue of "Soora" or any other material has been published against anyone by me.
13. The preliminary information of this issue was passed over by me to Sr. Jasbeer Singh Patti, Correspondence Nawa Jamana, Amritsar, Sr. Warinder Walia, Correspondent, The Tribune, Amritsar on February 27, 2006 itself.

Therefore, it is requested before your good self to get an enquiry by your intelligence department to expose the conspiracy behind such publication of "So Khayeeat Hai Soora", as the title has been registered by me and no one has the authority to use this title.
As per legal opinion of my advocate it is clearly a case of 120-B, 420 IPC. I request you to get an FIR registered from my side and help me to expose the conspiracy.
With this application I do affirm that I have not hidden any fact known to me till now nor deposed falsely in any manner and I am truly duty bound to cooperate the enquiry imposed by your good self.
