Chandigarh, Punjab - Chairman of the Majha Ex-Servicemen Human Rights Front, Colonel G.S Sandhu, who fought the battle against the cruelty of so-called Nihang Ajit Singh Poohla, along with Gurmat Mission Foundation Jatha sevadars, Bhai Sahib Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Jagtar Singh, Aspal Singh, Manjeet Singh, Sukhdeep Singh, Ranjeet Singh, and Jasvinder Singh questioned the decision taken by the Singh Sahibans under the direction of Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Joginder Singh Vedanti that the complaints received against Maan Singh Pehova could not be reviewed. The basis of such a decision cannot be found in the Sikh Rehat Maryada or during the golden history of the Sikhs.

1. Since those young women and families whose complaints against Maan Singh Pehova were given in writing were not called to Akal Takhat Sahib so that their side may be heard.

2. The Sikhs and their families, whose religious sentiments were hurt, also were not summoned.

3. Those who complained about Pehova building deras on their land also were not summoned so that they could receive justice. The Singh Sahibs keeping in mind Gurmat and the greatness of the highest court Akal Takht Sahib, should expel the accused Maan Singh Pehova from the Panth and the Singh Sahibs along with members of the Shiromani Committee should desist from attending his samagams. An end should be put to all his religious activities.

Though the matters surrounding Mann Singh Pehova may be for the law to handle however these are also Panthic matters. The Singh Sahibs should discuss this as Mann Singh Pehova, while being a patit (apostate), is preaching from Gurdwara stages and participating in Amrit Sanchars.

How can a person who himself is patit (apostate) and against whom many girls have leveled allegations of sexual misconduct, put people on the path of Sikhi? Isn't the bestowing of Amrit by such a person a major violation of the Sikh Maryada?

Not so long ago, the Singh Sahibs remained silent during the episode of Baba Dhanvant Singh, and that due to this, the golden standards of Akal Takhat Sahib were damaged. However, history is witness that in the past from there orders had been given for protecting the honor of innocent girls. Girls were released from the hands of Ahmedshah Abdali and Nadir Shah yet still today, in Maan Singhs Pehova Dera, 9 unmarried girls are kept while in his Ropar Dera, 3 girls are kept. Some also are there in the Jalandhar Dera. For what reason does a Sadh keep unmarried girls at his dera? Is this according to Gurmat?

The Singhs who brought the voice of truth to the Sangat are being seen as Panth Dokhis (ill-wishers) by the tutoos (donkeys) of the baba. In his support the baba's tutoos are paying for ads to be printed in newspapers. We would like to ask the supporters of the baba whether people such as Maan Singh Pehova, who has dishonored our sisters, qualify clearly according to Gurmat as  Panth dokhis?

The baba does not have the courage to face the Sangat as he has committed such despicable acts. Those who are becoming the shields of the baba, may they be so-called Jathedars, so-called Sants, will also not be spared. From the smallest to most powerful, protectors of his so-called baba will be paraded in India and abroad. We are appealing to the Sikh Sangat to become attached to Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and to boycott those pakhandi (fake) human gurus, who call themselves sants, have the sangat bow at their feet, and sit on cushions. A spark has been ignited against 'deravad' (dera culture), which will become a firestorm in times to come. Sikhi is a religion with a 'gristi' [family centered] way of life that instructs one to do simran and seva. Some are only following this path displaying an outward appearance.

Once, Maharaja Ranjit Singh had committed an error for which he was instructed to appear at Akal Takht Sahib by the Jathedar, Akali Baba Phoola Singh. A very hard punishment was announced for Maharaja Ranjit Singh. He admitted his mistake and asked for forgivness from the Sikh Panth. We should keep these golden instances in mind.

If the Singh Sahibs cannot take a firm stand against Maan Singh Pehova then they should provide the reason to the Guru Panth Sikh Sangat because the Guru Panth Sikh Sangat is supreme. If the Jathedar deceives the Sikh Sangat then he will be answerable to the Guru Panth Sikh Sangat. We are again making a request to the Singh Sahibs that they should discuss this matter again. If this step is not taken, our organization, along with other Sikh groups, will take the next step according to the hukam of Guru Panth Sikh Sangat.
