Sardar Simranjit Singh Mann Blasts Spokesman & Anti-Dasam Bani Lobby
Thursday 21st of February 2008
Panthic Weekly News Bureau

Fatehgarh Sahib (KP) – In a strongly worded in a press release, S. Simranjit Singh Mann, President Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar),  stated that the Sikh Nation is going through very harsh times and to divert the attention of the Nation towards useless controversies will not be tolerated.  S. Mann blamed the Rozana Spokesman sewspaper for continuing to write against Gurbani and for supporting right-wing Hindu organizations.

In details, S. Mann has held that the main motive of Joginder Sawney, the editor of Rozana Spokesman, is to spread the propaganda of organizations such as the Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh, Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, Shiv Sena, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bhartiya Janta Party.  S. Mann criticized Sawney’s efforts of insulting Gurbani along with Sikh traditions and held that until such newspapers are not fully boycotted, the Sikh Nation can never regain its sovereignty.

Kala-Afgana Lobby working for RSS's interests

S. Mann has stated that the Dasam Granth controversy was instigated in a big conspiracy against the Sikh Nation.  Joginder Sawney, along with Gurtej Sinh I.A.S., Inder Ghagga and Kala Afghana, spearheaded this controversy on the behest of Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh.  Furthermore, the fact that Joginder Sawney holds close relations with Hari Rattan Yutka is highly damaging for the Panth and suggests a lot about his intentions and motives.

Spokesman Loddy Insulting Bani and Sikh Traditions

S. Simranjit Singh Mann held that Rozana Spokesman addresses the Dasam Granth Sahib as merely a book and mocks the holy Gurbani using derogatory terms.  These are attempts by the right-wing Hindu organizations to cause friction in the Panth.  Banis of the Dasam Granth are an integral part of the Sikh religion.  Not only are banis from Dasam Granth read during Sikh initiation ceremonies, they also make up a major portion of daily Sikh nitnem.  By renouncing Dasam Granth Sahib, the actual motive of the Sangh Parivar is to reject Amrit and other Sikh traditions.

Not very long ago, the Rozana Spokesman provided assistance to Prof. Darshan Singh in spreading propaganda about Dasam Granth Sahib.  Prof. Darshan Singh was challenged by Panthic Jathebandis to hold open discussions on Dasam Granth, but despite initially accepting the challenge, the Ragi refrained from showing up at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib for the convention.

Joginder Sawney, the Editor of Rozana Spokesman has already been excommunicated from the Panth by Takhat Jathedars for questioning integral Sikh traditions and beliefs.  Following attempts by Rozana Spokesman to defy Sikh traditions, Singh Sahib Bhai Ranjit Singh also made appeals to the Sikh Nation to boycott the Rozana Spokesman in social, religious and personal aspects.
