SGPC to setup Panel for Relic and Scripture Authenticity

Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab -  Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar said that SGPC would set up special committee of Sikh intellectuals which would preserve, procure and check the authenticity of scriptures and relic of Sikh Gurus and other great Sikh personalities placed in India and abroad .  
 
Speaking to media persons at Sirhind residence of senior Akali leader Amarinder Singh Libra, Makkar said that two members of the panel will be from England while other members from India. He said that this committee of experts would clear many confusions.   
 
He said that SGPC wants to get control of Diwan Todar Mal Haveli as committee wants to develop it. He said that SGPC would talk to trust members who had purchased the Haveli. He said that the state government had already marked inquiry under which circumstances the Haveli was sold.
 
Makkar further stated that SGPC would develop four acre of land in memory of martyr Banda Singh Bahadur. He said that Rs 90 lakh has already been spent on Panjore where SGPC had 850 yards of land in memory of memorial of Guru Nanak Dev.
