AMRITSAR SAHIB - —Taking a strong stand against the Darbar Sahib replica being built in Sangrur, the Takht Jathedars ordered the management committee in question to change the design of the complex. The meeting was held at the Teja Singh Samundri Hall in which summons were issued for Baldev Sehora, head of the committee, along with other committee members responsible for the blasphemous act that has been ongoing for over two decades.
It was ordered that the pool be filled and covered entirely and the four domes be demolished to ensure the alleged Gurdwara does not look like Sri Harmandir Sahib. Giani Gurbachan Singh further ordered that the name be changed from ‘Sachkhand Mastuana Sahib’ to ‘Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Mastuana’.
The decision taken at the meeting however did not please Panthic Jathebandis which called for the immediate demolition of the structure claiming such blasphemy should not be pardoned. Bhai Kanwarpal Singh, along with Bhai Mohkam Singh and Bhai Rajinder Singh, said that the lapse and relief being provided to the Mastuana committee is not acceptable. They quoted the demolition of the Government built Akal Takht Sahib building in 1986, saying that if that building was bulldozed, the same should be applied to the Darbar Sahib replica in Sangrur.
The meeting was supposed to have included both Giani Iqbal Singh, Jathedar Takht Sri Patna Sahib and Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, but due to issues that exist amongst Jathedars, Giani Nandgarh chose to stay isolated from the meeting.
Disclosing the reason to the press regarding his absence, Giani Nandgarh alleged that Giani Iqbal Singh should not be allowed to sit in Panthic meetings since he had challenged the supremacy of Akal Takht Sahib. However, as a contradictory, Giani Iqbal Singh had cleared himself by stating his hukamnama relating to the summons of Ragi Darshan Singh was issued eyeing respect and honor of Akal Takht Sahib.
It should be noted that Giani Iqbal Singh had taken a strong stand against Parkash Badal and warned to expose him, along with Makkar and other Jathedars. Very recently, Giani Nandgarh’s closeness to Parkash Badal had been exposed when he refused to take part in the Shaheedi Jatha called by Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal and Akali Dal Panch Pardhani.
