Lahore, Pakistan (KP) - The Parkash Utsav of Guru Raam Daas Sahib was celebrated at Gurdwara Chuna Mandi Sahib in Pakistan with great fervor by the Sikh Sangat from West and East Punjab collaboratively. Several positive developments were announced by the Pakistan Government officials who were in attendance at the event.
A special package to commemorate the 300th Gurta-Gaddi event was declared by Lt. General Muhammed Javeed, ETPB Chairman, in which a stamp dedicated to Guru Granth Sahib Ji will be launched. October 20th was announced as the launch date when this stamp will be made available throughout Pakistan.
In addition, it was announced that the Pakistan Government will be constructing a special residential block to better accommodate Sikh visitors from Eastern Punjab on their visit to Pakistan. He also welcomed the move to initiate re-construction projects by the Kar Seva organizations in Pakistan, while announcing that they will be allowed to enter the country any time.
Sikh Sangat that was present at the event cherished the announcements by Muhammed Javeed and applauded his positive contributions to strengthen relations with the Sikh community in Pakistan. Several representatives of the PSGPC and SGPC also took part in the celebrations and appreciated the positive steps taken by the Pakistan authorities.
