Khalsa Aid Panjab Floods Relief
Friday 10th of October 2008
Khalsa Aid (UK)

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

Khalsa Aid has been providing aid to the floods affected people of  Panjab since the beginning of September. We had hoped to fully move on  to the 2nd phase of our relief mission but due to the embankments of  the Rivers and Canals breaking again in many areas we are still on our emergency phase.

So far Khalsa Aid has provided food rations, bedsheets and blankets in the affected areas and have recently started to pay the childrens school fees so that their education is not affected due to the economic hardships caused by the floods.

We are funding our determined, dedicated and Chardi Kalan Sevadars from the Gurmat Gian College, Ludhiana to carry out this much needed Sewa.  The reports which we have received from our Sevadars in the affected  areas indicate very low morale of the people and the need for the Sikh community to offer their practical and spiritual support to the people of Panjab during their time of suffering and hardship.

Khalsa Aid will continue to carry out regular assessments of the needs of the affected people and will modify the relief materials accordingly. Please visit our website for further information and regular updates at www.khalsaaid.org

We depend on the generosity of the Sangat to carry out our relief work, please donate generously!

Khalsa Aid (KA) is primarily a humanitarian relief agency, based on the teachings of the Sikh Gurus who preached well being of all humanity.  Since the launch of KA in 1999 we have provided aid in many different disasters, this has only been possible due to the generosity of the Sikh community.
