In the era of IT, there is need for new solutions. And Vismaad, an IT Consulting and Solutions company based in Singapore, is doing exactly that! It specializes in developing optimal and customized IT solutions in the Semiconductor, Logistics and Manufacturing industry.
Vismaad Mediatech, a component of Vismaad, was the brainchild of a few passionate information technology professionals, with a vision to be the first animation and computer graphics company in Punjab and northern India. Vismaad aims to be a leading player in the animation industry.
Vismaad wishes to provide an alternative to the existing medium of imparting Sikh values, culture and history by employing high tech and up to date technology and innovation while striving to continuously improve upon the quality of the animations and other work it produces.
Vismaad has embarked on this mission by producing the first ever 2D animated movie on Sikh History “Sahibzadey: A Saga of Valor & Sacrifice”. This movie depicts the Martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh ji & Baba Fateh Singh ji in an inimitable style which the children of today, not to mention, adults will enjoy and we are confident that many generations to come will also be inspired by this pioneering work.
Vismaad plans to dedicate a team of animators to produce more animated movies on Sikh History and beyond. This initiative is on a not-for-profit basis. Revenues generated from marketing of this film and future such films will be reinvested in the production of similar projects and community development work.
In the modern world with its global realities, the Sikh/Punjabi community is facing a multitude of obstacles. For many peoples and cultures and especially for the Sikhs, the challenge to retain their identity and keep their values intact becomes an even greater challenge. With the dilution and elimination of these core values and further the inability to transmit these values to future generations through creative yet inspiring means may mean the eventual extinction of a people. Finding ways to connect to one’s history is an incredible source of inspiration. How do we reconnect and address some of the critical issues we face today?
A recent survey revealed that 80% Sikh Youth in Punjab does not remember the name of Sikh Guru Sahibs. Our History is our roots. Today’s Sikh generations are cut off from Sikh History.
"Stories of our ancestors are epithet of courage, valor and supreme sacrifice. Awe inspiring bed time stories of Gurus and Martyrs had helped inculcate resolute faith in the past. As a result our predecessors remained steadfast in Sikh ‘Rehat’ even in extreme adversities."
"We firmly believe that “sakhis” from our history depicting the lives of the Guru’s and the great Sikhs still holds the key to inspiring our youth even today. Youth tend to imitate those by whom they are inspired and unfortunately in current times, it is what they see and is currently presented by Hollywood and Bollywood media."
"We aim to capture the lives of our Sikh heroes in a medium which attracts kids and grown-ups alike. Though targeted for the Sikh audience so that we can take pride in keeping our Sikh identity and values intact, our animations will also have the potential to arouse the interest of other communities as we progress. Animated movies on Sikh History can also assist in educating the world about our rich heritage and culture."
"Our initial endeavor towards this tremendous direction is in the embodiment of our premier production on Sikh History 'Sahibzadey: A Saga of Valor & Sacrifice'. The movie took 14 months to complete from Concept to Completion. The cost of the production is $80,000.00."
