Chandigarh, Punjab (KP) – Although it has been over 6 months that the ‘Golden Paalki’ was transferred to Pakistan, it seems as the controversies behind it are neverending. Stirring up an inventive dispute once again, Badal’s operative, Kuldeep S. Bhogal, has claimed that the golden palki merely carries one and half kilograms of gold whereas according to Paramjit S. Sarna, over 10 kgs of gold were used in preparing the palki.
In a press conference, Bhogal addressed that a team consisting of 7 members will be sent to Pakistan to inspect the palki. This team will be led by Avtar Singh Hit. Notifying the press about the possible multi-crore scam, Bhogal stated that these reports were received from the Pakistan Prime Minister - Shaukat Aziz.
In response to these allegations, Paramjit S. Sarna told the press that he was merely involved in getting the palki transferred to Pakistan, and that in reality only Baba Jagtar Singh (Kar Seva Vale) would know about its actual contents.
It should be noted that although Baba Jagtar Singh is renowned by the Sikh panth, internal financial disputes of the kar seva jatha came to light when Baba Amrik Singh, a senior jatha member, was blamed for larceny of financial assets worth Rs. 2 crores.
This issue was earlier raised by Manjit Singh of Akali Dal (Panthic) when he questioned the Sarna brothers about presenting the detailed budget of money used to prepare the Palki. So far, no such details are forthcoming by Sarna or the DSGMC, which overtook the responsibility of collecting funds for this project.
