MUMBAI, India (KP)-- It might be a while until the mystery of the recent Taj Hotel blasts unfolds, however the conspiracy behind the September Malegaon bomb blasts seem to have been revealed in its entirety. Recently unearthed proof exposes the involvement of the Bhartiya Janta Party and the Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh activists in the bomb blasts that practically converted a local mosque into a graveyard. The Malegaon bombing killed seven and injured over 70 people in the Bhikhu Chowk area in Malegaon of Maharashtra.
This past week, the involvement of Dayanand Panday, BJP conspirator and radical priest, became evident when the Special MCOCA court extended his police custody until December 1st. Panday was initially arrested for interrogation purposes however he was detained by the police as more proof led to his involvement as the main conspirator in the blasts. The Malegaon blasts exposed the evil face of the BJP terrorists in front of the world as it brought forward the fact that alleged religious leaders can work in radical terrorist activities in this so-called secular country.
HINDU TERRORISTS MEET: A video obtained by the Anti-Terrorism Squad of the Maharashtra police shows ‘Sadhvi’ Pragnya Thakur (far left) and godman Dayanand Pandey (far right) at a function in Bhopal on April 12, 2008. The event was organised by Sameer Kulkarni, member of the radical Hindu group, Abhinav Bharat, and its president Himani Savarkar (second from left).
Proof of Panday’s involvement came from the laptop that was seized at the time of his arrest. According to the prosecution’s recorded statement in the court, the ATS has recovered a video recording and three audio clips that provide strong evidence of Panday’s involvement. All of the recordings revolve around the discussion of various tactics that could be used to cause the most destruction. Panday and his associates, namely Lt. Col. Prasad Purohit and Sadhvi Pragya Singh talk of using RDX and grenades to accomplish this act.
The Bhartiya Janta Party, which has always condemned various terrorist acts in the country, came to light when they protested the arrest of Pragya Singh and Panday despite their proved involvement in the case. Interestingly, these radicals have in the past even blamed various Islamic groups for attacks on Mosques; however, the recent arrest of Panday provides a hint at the possible involvement of Hindutva Militants in terrorist activities carried out against the Muslim community.
With the recent bombings having taken place in Mumbai once again, the attention of the world media has definitely shifted, whether or not this has an impact on the overall proceedings of the Malegaon case will be interesting to follow. As organizations around the world push for action against the groups involved in the recent bombing of different hotels in Mumbai, the BJP fanatic leaders must also be punished for their terrorist acts in the country which are often overlooked.
