Morinda, Punjab (KP) - More appaling news came out from Punjab that will further incense the sentiments of the Sikh community across the globe: Five sacred saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were reportedly desecrated by some unknown miscreants in the village of Udhampur Nallan, near Morinda, District Ropar.
According to reports released by independent press reporter Satpal Singh, the five saroops of the Holy Scripture were taken the village Gurdwara Sahib and thrown in a nearby well and then alcohol was pured over the saroops on the evening of August 12th, 2011.
Surprisingly, no one in the village, including the Gurdwara management committee took any notice or action in regards to this shocking incident. Various Panthic organizations have began to investigate the incident, as the news and outrage over this incident spreads across to the Sikh community in Punjab and abroad.
Similar incidents of desecration have occurred in the past by individuals loyal to the various heretical cults that have mushroomed in the Sikh homeland of Punjab for the last half a century under the tutelage of Indian intelligence agencies. They include deras such as Neo-Nirankaris, Sacha Sauda, Noormehlias, and the Bhaniaraywala cults.
Ironicly, the present day Badal Akali-BJP Government, which relies on the vote bank of such deras, continues to turn a blind eye to such sacrileges - and test the patience of the Sikh community.
